SCIM

SCIM is a tool that allows you to securely sync user data between multiple applications. With a SCIM integration, you can create, update, and delete NiCE CXone users from a third-party identity provider (IdP). Commonly used IdP apps are Okta, Azure Active Directory, and Google Workspace.

Key Facts About SCIM Integration

  • After setting up a SCIM integration, changes in IdP user accounts will automatically update employee accounts in NiCE CXone.

  • Information flows in one direction, from your IdP to NiCE CXone. Changes in NiCE CXone will not update Okta.

  • You can create, update, and deactivate NiCE CXone employee accounts with your IdP.

  • Four fields are required when you create a user in NiCE CXone with your IdP: Username, First Name, Last Name, and Email. You can only use Okta to edit these fields.

  • If you have employee templates set up in NiCE CXone, you can apply a template when creating a new user. This lets you quickly apply preconfigured settings to the new user, like their primary role.
    You can also manually use the Display Name, Middle Name, Mobile Number, Time Zone, Type, Login Authenticator, Primary Role, and Team fields when you create a user.   • All users created with your IdP will be assigned to the Agent role in NiCE CXone, unless you enable a different default role. You can change the user's role in NiCE CXone after they're created. If you don't have an Agent role in NiCE CXone, then the user cannot be created through your IdP.
